Diagnostics

Pound Road Veterinary Clinic is well-equipped with a large range of diagnostic tools to help us achieve the best outcomes for your pet.

Our state-of-the-art equipment includes ultrasound, electrocardiogram (ECG), endoscope and digital radiography.

We also perform some in-house blood and urine tests. Pound Road Veterinary Clinic has a microscope on site which enables us to examine various tissues and body fluids under heavy magnification.

Our in-house facility allows us to diagnose conditions such as ear and skin infections while your pet is here in consultation.

Dental Care

At Pound Road Veterinary Clinic, we also provide dental care services to ensure that your pet does not suffer from oral diseases.

Our staff are always willing to offer free advice on dental care ranging from prevention to treatment. We also have a variety of pet foods and specially designed treats to aid in the prevention of oral disease.

As part of the treatment, we offer comprehensive dental care using the latest ultrasonic scaling and polishing equipment

Preventative Medicine

As part of preventative care, we offer vaccination, regular checkups and special senior health care.

Nutrition and Weight Loss Program

Pound Road Veterinary Clinic stocks a wide range of premium pet food including dry, tinned, fresh frozen food and dental treats.

We also stock a wide range of prescription diets designed to help manage specific diseases. Along with regular exercise and veterinary checkups, a well-balanced diet will help maximise your pet’s potential for a long, happy and healthy life.

We also offer weight loss programs to assist in achieving and maintaining the optimum weight for your pet.

Microchipping

Microchipping is the most secure form of pet identification and is mandatory for all newly registered dogs and cats.

An encapsulated transponder that is the size of a grain of rice is implanted beneath the skin, which when scanned emits a unit number. This unit number is used to identify the owner.

Surgery

At Pound Road Veterinary Clinic, we perform a wide range of surgical procedures from removing tumours to bone plating and application of external fixatives for fracture repair.

We are fully-equipped with state-of-the-art surgical and anaesthetic monitoring equipment.

Desexing

Desexing is a safe procedure that is performed under general anaesthetic and your pet can be discharged the same day post-observation. We recommend having your pet de-sexed at 6 months of age to avoid unwanted pregnancies, roaming-related injuries and diseases.

All of our patients are given pain relief before and after surgery to ensure they are comfortable. Unless clients request otherwise, all pets will have a tattoo applied to the left ear to signify they have been de-sexed.
